the beginnings of an orb pendant

over the weekend, my eyeballs saw a lot of this.

and then . . .

i was pooped.  Burn Notice, Bones, and Portlandia may have distracted me a wee bit too.  i have to let the ball cure for a few days, but i hope to have this baby up by the end of the week.  pendants are not really an option for my home due to our 8 foot ceilings.  luckily, this baby is getting tucked into a corner, so nobody's fat head will run into it.

here's a clip from Portlandia that made me laugh.

also, i am in the market for a new camera.  i bought a canon s95 (point and shoot) back in october, and i really dislike it.  fortunately, amazon is amazing, and i'll get 90% of my $$ back to spend on a new camera.  i am thinking about a canon rebel (slr).  we are getting a nice tax refund, so i will have a little extra play beans.

any suggestions on a camera?

  1. Two of my besties are professional photographers and they recommend Canon for me (amateur). I currently own a Canon Power Shot SD 750 which has been AMAZING. I've had it about 6 years and it still takes great pictures. I am currently looking for something a little more in-depth, so I am going to be purchasing a Canon Rebel T3i DSLR with an 18/135mm lens. I was contemplating getting a Canon 60D, but those are a little too advanced for me and the parts are tough to get a hold of once the camera gets older and obsolete. Canon has a long list of Rebel models and has the parts for all of them at decent prices, should something go wrong. We are buying it with our tax return too! I don't know if that helps at all, but I thought I would try!

I am looking for a good camera as well. All I have is my computer which is pretty lame-o. My tax return went to a new to us car since Andy wrecked his a few weeks ago :-(

So, when are we getting together for a chat?
